One of the things I’m most proud of this year is this video!! 🥹🎥✨ As funny as it sounds, the idea for our brand video came to me during a Vipassana meditation retreat—I had an epiphany and could clearly visualize the concept 💡🧘♂️. But ideas are easy; execution is the hard part! 💪 Thankfully, with incredibly talented individuals like Aakriti Shrestha and Kuiro, who bring visual storytelling to life with passion, empathy, and love ❤️🎨, that vision turned into reality. And, with the creative genius of Kajina Shrestha guiding the process 🎬💡, the final product is truly top-notch! 🌟 Read more about the journey below and watch the video here: 📺👇 https://lnkd.in/gCfc3tch --- A story not just of connection and passion but of the real, tangible impact ❤️ The seed for the idea of this video emerged during one of our team’s tea tours to our family tea farm in Phidim, Nepal. There, we saw how tea connects people living in two different worlds yet pursuing the same purpose. In this story, we follow two fictional individuals that depict the reality. Priya, a resilient tea farmer in Nepal, joined our family farm to secure educational opportunities for her children through our scholarship program. Thousands of miles away, a driven professional in the US pours her passion into work, finding moments of calm and inspiration in the same cup of tea. Though separated by place and lifestyle, both share the same spirit of dedication towards earning a livelihood for them and their families. Their lives are woven together by tea. As the team reflected, we envisioned capturing this profound connection on film, despite the challenges. What seemed like a simple drive to the farms turned into two days of navigating the steep hills of Eastern Nepal to reach the tea farms during the off-season. With help from a fellow tea garden owner, we found just enough tea bushes to bring our vision to life, while an expat friend helped us authentically recreate the essence of tea enjoyment in the US. What we learned on this journey went beyond filmmaking. This experience reminded us of the importance of our ultimate mission: Empowering communities using tea as a catalyst for a social change! As we come back from this journey, we are more energized and motivated than ever. Being able to witness the impact we have been virtually creating made us feel the zeal to do even better. We #WON the Leafies Award (the "#Oscars of Tea")—Again! 🏆🍃 Eight years ago, when I started Nepal Tea Collective, PBC., my goal was simple yet ambitious: to give #Nepali teas their own voice as a distinct #origin. Today, seeing Nepali teas gain such recognition is beyond what I could have ever imagined. To date, we've received 25+ #awards for the incredible #quality of our teas, but this one feels especially #meaningful. Walking on stage to accept this award at The Leafies UK Tea Academy, all I could think about was the story behind this tea and how it reflects the resilience of countless farmers in Nepal. Dedicated to my mother, who first planted tea bushes in her backyard in 1984, Kumari Gold stands as a testament to the finest black tea anywhere—and today, the world has recognized it. #Recognition matters, especially when it's for those who have been overlooked for decades. This is the journey of Nepali teas: against all odds, we're finally carving out a unique place in the industry that honors the people who grow and produce them. While this award is a #win for Nepal, it’s also a message to anyone who has mislabeled Nepali teas as "subpar" (yes, those voices still exist!). If you haven't tried this tea yet, now's the time!
