Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon in the warmer, more southern appellation of Mâcon receives the same organic and biodynamic viticulture approach as Lafon's Meursault vines. This Chardonnay ages in larger-format barrels and is bottled well before the Meursault cuvées to preserve its snap and precision.

Lafon's entire lineup from the Mâcon is terrific and well worth your attention, but Viré-Clessé is in a league of its own. It produces a razor-precise Chardonnay founded upon the same regal structure that makes Lafon's Meursault enviable but with more palatable pricing!
