Members of our Donations & Compliance teams recently traveled to Salt Lake City with our legal partners to support the Rocky Mountain Innocence Center (RMIC), which provides critical investigation and litigation services to individuals who have been wrongfully convicted. This marks our second year attending, and we're proud to stand behind such an important mission. This year’s Hope for the Innocent Breakfast was especially meaningful as RMIC celebrates 25 years of impactful work. We were honored to hear keynote speaker Marvin Cotton Jr. share his powerful story—his resilience and advocacy are a true testament to the importance of RMIC’s work. We’re grateful for the opportunity to support this cause and encourage others to get involved.

This month, our team had the privilege of volunteering at the Special Olympics Utah Basketball Tournament with Unified Champion Schools, hosted by Utah State University. We were honored to be part of an event where 23 high school teams competed, and the athletes gave their all. It was a truly humbling experience to witness their dedication and enthusiasm and to contribute to an event that promotes inclusivity and sportsmanship. Our volunteers played key roles in supporting the tournament, from scorekeeping to ushering, ensuring everything ran smoothly. We look forward to more opportunities like this in the future!

This Pi Day, the team at Blackstone threw pies at brave volunteers to support a great cause—raising over $1,100 for Relay For Life and their mission to end cancer. Employees paid to throw whipped cream pies at willing volunteers, all while having fun and making a difference. Relay For Life’s mission is close to our hearts: raising funds and awareness to help end cancer. This incredible movement unites communities to honor survivors, remember loved ones, and fight for a cancer-free future. The money raised through our event will directly support Relay For Life’s efforts in funding cancer research and providing assistance to those currently battling cancer and their families. We’re thrilled by the support from everyone who participated, and grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact in the fight against cancer!

We recently had the opportunity to talk with Nathan Lippy, our Director of Digital Strategy and Content, and hear about his journey with Blackstone. It began over a decade ago when he saw a Blackstone griddle on Facebook. Curious about how it worked, he reached out to us, offering his skills in video production. That initiative led to a long-term partnership and a deep passion for cooking on our griddles. One of Nate’s most memorable moments was cooking at a PGA event alongside John Daly, preparing his famous steak bites. Nate’s love for Blackstone isn’t tied to one specific recipe but to the versatility of cooking large meals at once. His advice for beginners is to cook with high heat. It’s the key to getting the perfect sear and flavor, allowing you to create the crispy texture that makes Blackstone cooking special. For inspiration, Nate turns to the Griddle Nation community. By seeing what others create and mixing in new ideas, he pushes the limits of what’s possible on the griddle. Nate appreciates Blackstone's unique sense of community, where accountability and shared goals make the experience professionally and personally rewarding. We’re proud to have him as part of the Blackstone family!

Meet CJ Frazier, one of our Blackstone Griddle Pro's! His story started with no love for cooking or griddles, but everything changed when he met Nathan Lippy. After several years of learning, cooking together, and sharing meals with friends and family, CJ was hooked. One of CJ's unforgettable moments with Blackstone was realizing that his face was on stickers in stores! Another stand-out moment was when his best friend and mentor, Nate, told him that one of his dishes, a perfectly plated chimichurri ribeye, was one of the best steak dishes he’d ever had. CJ’s philosophy is simple: don’t be intimidated. He encourages anyone new to the Blackstone to jump in, make mistakes, and learn. It’s all part of the fun and the process! Whether it’s experimenting with unique sauces or pushing the boundaries of what can be cooked on the griddle, CJ’s creativity shines through. What makes CJ's journey even more special is his focus on the experience, not just the food. As he says, the Blackstone isn't just a griddle; it’s a way to bring people together. Whether it's cooking for his family, friends, or neighbors, CJ has become the hero of his backyard—and he’s loving every moment of it.

Each year, Blackstone’s Relay for Life Team raises funds and participates in the 24-hour relay event to support the incredible work of the American Cancer Society. This year, we offered employees the chance to send Candygrams for Valentine’s Day, with all proceeds going directly to Relay for Life. Relay for Life’s mission is to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer. By supporting this fundraiser, we’re helping to fund life-saving research and provide critical services for those on their cancer journey. We’re proud to contribute to such an important cause and grateful for everyone who helped make this fundraiser a success!

We had the pleasure of sitting down with The Hungry Hussey, one of Blackstone’s incredible Griddle Pros, and hearing about his passion for cooking on the griddle! He started out like anyone else, getting his first griddle back in 2015 after hearing about them on a forum. Over time, he honed his skills, built a following, and forged a relationship with Blackstone, eventually leading to becoming one of our Griddle Pros. Matt has a deep appreciation for community. The Blackstone Griddle Summit has been one of his most unforgettable experiences, where people come together like family, share recipes, and support each other in their griddle journeys. When asked about his favorite dish to cook on the Blackstone, Matt shared that breakfast is where it’s at! From bacon and eggs to hash browns and biscuits, there’s something special about sharing a delicious breakfast with family. Matt’s advice for those just starting out with a Blackstone: “Get those reps in and know your griddle.” He emphasizes the importance of understanding your griddle’s hot spots and being comfortable with the cooking process to take your food to the next level. Matt draws inspiration for new dishes from his family’s cooking or ideas he sees on cooking shows, and he encourages everyone to experiment and make each recipe their own! One thing Matt wants people to take away from his journey is not to be intimidated. If he can do it, so can you. Get out there, try new things, and most importantly, have fun while cooking great food!
