'Cause if you Lovett, then you should've put a ring on it… and they did!
2024 Out100 honoree and Crooked Media cofounder Jon Lovett — who hosts/cohosts podcasts such as Pod Save America and Lovett or Leave It — has officially gotten engaged to partner Ari Schwartz. And, well, this adorable couple is smiling ear to ear!

"We met at work and were friends for a long time before we realized there might be more to it," Lovett tells Out. "We just liked the same dumb jokes, and then we fell in love."
The couple adds that their engagement "was planned by both of us, down to the minute, with absolutely zero surprise elements, which is, for a certain kind of type A person, deeply romantic. But what that really means is we decided well before."
"And the truth is, it was Jon being gone for Survivor that made both of us realize that there was no reason to wait," Schwartz recalled.
The fiancés are also only getting started with their wedding plans. "We should probably say it's going to be a very small and intimate affair with just the closest of friends and family, but that's a lie," Lovett and Schwartz noted. "For gays and theys, big weddings are acts of resistance."

Lovett also made this announcement regarding his love life in the closing segment of a recent episode from Lovett or Leave It.
"And, finally, I have some personal news. I got engaged… several years ago, and it didn't work out," Lovett joked. "And then I got engaged again!" he added, which was followed by cheers and applause from the audience.
He went on, "After four decades on this earth, someone finally chose not to Leave It. I've been doing this show for 8 years now. While the show has changed a lot, and I've changed a lot, so much of what you see of me here is pretty consistent: the ups and downs of the news, and the ups and downs of my life."
The Lovett or Leave It host then broke down the reasons why he plays a little bit of a character on the podcast, but circled back to the news of his engagement. "I fell in love while the world fell apart," Lovett noted. "And I don't know what the future holds, but you'll be pleased to know that as happy as I am — and I only realize now truly happy, maybe for the first time in my life — I'm as motivated by rage as ever."
"I seem to be getting angrier, and maybe that's because my partner — in addition to being the funniest and kindest human being I've ever met — is trans," he said. "I see the space between the beauty of a society that celebrates difference, and one that would rather destroy the lives of strangers than untangle what is ultimately a tiny knot of discomfort, and curiosity… or maybe that's just who I am, but either way, I'm excited to finally try sex."
Lovett concluded:
"For those asking, the reception will be in Los Angeles, and the honeymoon will be in Guantanamo. And to everyone on Reddit who had already figured this out, congratulations! For your next challenge, crack a window."
Congratulations are in order to the new couple!
