"From Eden Valley, as per Flaxman, and the Naimanya vineyard of 30 year old vines, set at 525 metres above sea level. All the whole bunches were employed in the wild ferment.
Sheesh! This has some get up and go. So very spicy, white peppery with thrusts of dried and fresh Italian herbs, alpine herbs, brined green olive, green capsicum and fennel with raspberry, strawberry, touches of game meat. Wild and seriously high toned, almost a kind of alpine, red amaro feel to the wine, cumquat in there too. The feel overall is curiously light, almost diffuse in fruit character, and very fine boned. Sleek, silty tannins wrap around gently. It’s perhaps a little on an edge, but a great conversation point and some will enjoy the more skittish nature of this wine. I do, but perhaps in moderation."
